The 2020 election succeeded in producing the highest level of voter participation in at least a century under a set of remarkably difficult circumstances. While the election ran more smoothly than had been anticipated (perhaps because many problems were anticipated), substantive election reform is clearly needed. This session will consider a variety of proposals endorsed by political scientists and election-law scholars to improve American elections.
