In today’s society, we take many things for granted. Fresh water? It’s as near as the sink-it’s always there. The trash truck takes our trash “away” once a week. A flushed toilet takes stuff “somewhere else” and our recyclables go “to a good place”. With the cooperation of the City of Kearney’s Utilities and Public Works Departments, this class will offer an opportunity to see behind the scenes and see how the City provides fresh water, manages wastes, responsibly handles recyclables, and diligently adheres to State and Federal standard to maintain environmental quality. It will include two presentations by Kearney’s Utilities and Public Works Staff along with informational tours at the Recycling Center and Wastewater Treatment Plant (Water Resource Recovery Facility)
Class Is Limited 20 participants.
